A quinta edição do Diálogo Brasil-Alemanha de Ciência, Pesquisa e Inovação, que acontecerá em 29 e 30 de novembro, reunirá na Câmara Municipal de São Paulo gestores urbanos e pesquisadores dos dois países para debater questões relacionadas à urbanização, seus desafios e soluções.
Com o tema “The City of Tomorrow – Tackling Urban Challenges and Opportunities”, o evento, realizado anualmente pelo Centro Alemão de Ciência e Inovação – São Paulo (DWIH-SP), conta este ano com a coorganização da Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo (Fapesp), a FGV Projetos, a Escola do Parlamento da Câmara Municipal de São Paulo e o Ministério Federal das Relações Externas da Alemanha.
Estruturado em três painéis, a conferência abordará os temas “Planejamento e Governança Urbana”, “Gestão de Água e Resíduos” e “Eficiência Energética e Clima Urbano”. O Diálogo Brasil-Alemanha é um evento de foco científico que, nesta edição, por meio do intercâmbio e colaboração entre diferentes setores da sociedade, visa contribuir de forma plural com o debate sobre sustentabilidade ecológica, econômica e social dos centros urbanos.

Tema e contexto: Quando comparadas internacionalmente, as taxas de urbanização no Brasil (85%) e na Alemanha (74%) são igualmente elevadas. Isto cria, em ambos os países, tanto boas oportunidades para o desenvolvimento econômico, quanto desafios para a sustentabilidade social e ecológica. Neste sentido, o 5º Diálogo Brasil-Alemanha de Ciência, Pesquisa e Inovação visa fomentar a discussão entre pesquisadores e gestores dos dois países sobre o tema e contribuir com a cooperação entre os governos alemão e brasileiro para questões de urbanização, firmada em 2015.
